Seventh College’s general education curriculum consists of 14 required courses, some of which are likely to overlap with students’ major coursework. Tranfers will move to Sixth Apartments (and I think Rita Atkinson also but I'm not certain) while the Sixth Reshalls will be torn down and rebuilt into higher density housing for upper division students (and I assume some transfers too but they haven't said that yet). SYN 2 - Explorations of a Changing Planet SYN 2 builds upon the skills developed in Synthesis 1 by introducing research methods, culminating in an interdisciplinary research paper that students design around the changing planet topics addressed in the course and each student’s own interests. I'm a senior in high school, and im applying to UCSD as a mechanical engineering major, and I'm wondering how is Seventh college like? I like the sprit, not sure how useful this will be since residentual college is a small part of the UCSD experience though. Go for warren or Revelle as engineering in my opinion. Especially with there being so many less Seventh students than any other college (like 1/5) and other colleges don't have a need for their own sub. There are holes in the walls of all the buildings, their graduation rate is pretty low (currently 0.0%), and none of the faculty have email. Prerequisites: Seventh College students only; completion of UC Entry Level Writing requirement.

For housing, Seventh is going to be moving into the Village, which is currently transfer housing (only apartments which is great, but it's pretty far north, even past ERC. But yeah, dividing it doesn't make too much sense.

The housing is going to be in the far NW corner of campus where the Village is. This results in less GEs than many other colleges but you cannot simply rush them through right when you get here. Finally, students have to take one "high impact" course that has an experiential learning component, such as a study abroad course, an academic internship, a mentored research project, a senior thesis, etc..
