A fun little ditty about a father and son and the wife of a local wrestler. His reputation as a filmmaker and screenwriter is assured, he's been nominated for almost everything from Academy Awards to BAFTA's, Golden Globes to Razzies, and that last one is where I've personally put most of Aronofsky's films. That appreciation started many years ago, around 2008, and I remember that in one of my favorite wrestling  events  from that year, Wrestlemania 25 with the awesome fight between Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker, Mickey Rourke was challenged and he got to fight and have his moment to shine.

This is definitely Rourke's best performance and The Wrestler is a pretty solid movie. For this version, we fixed some bugs, created new features, added butter to the popcorn and made the cushions of your sofa extra fluffy. The pacing was perfect, I wasn’t bored for a moment. But we all know that movies don’t change, only the people viewing them do. Some director's output simply aren't for me, and our Darren would seem to be high on that list unfortunately.

I see a lot of myself, not to mention the characters I write, in Randy “The Ram” Robinson. Wrestler is in my opinion a masterpiece and I don't know why people tend to overlook this movie.
