I thought I had missed something but it was just a bit underwhelming.

A much better director at work brings a far more controlled and enjoyable film. I'm generally not a big omnibus fan, but the brevity of the episodic format worked for me here, I think because each tale was interesting and exactly the right length.

The first two films in this anthology can kind of be described as seeing a really bad opening act when you go to a concert.
