In rivals, there is a period where you don't lose your jump when you input a uspecial, which can let you gain a considerable amount of extra height for free when using tap jump. Plus, with the new dash-cancelling mechanics, performing tilts out of dash will be very useful. I use the X button... Or Y, whichever button is on the right side of A (never really payed attention to that, so...). FWIW it's not terribly difficult to do up tilts/specials/smashes with tap jump on, you eventually get a feel for the timing. Press J to jump to the feed.
