Unlike the other Mii costumes, Sakurai specifically talks about Rex and adds him as an additional costume for people who buy the DLC pass along with Xenoblade 2 music. I think Smash has a bit of an over-representation of Heroes, so more "grey area" characters like Jin or outright villains like Malos can help balance the roster. Reactions: Inoj.

And for people who didn't buy the season pass, the Rex DLC could probably include his Mii costume and the music that was added in addition to more music. And deciding on DLC characters before finishing the base game goes against Sakurai's philosophy. Rex jumps in the end of WoL to kill Galeem like Sonic in Subspace then gets unlocked, It’s downright baffling to me how so many people took Sakurai’s comments during the Mii costume reveal to mean “Rex won’t be DLC” rather than “I want all my fellow Xeno fans to know he’s a lock, but the marketing people won’t let me say that directly yet.”. But that's just it. The more I look into it, the more likely it seems Rex will be DLC. He mentions they have "yet to start on the dlc" characters. Add an image. There is something odd about how Sakurai talked about the Rex costume. Dunban's Outfit returns from Smash 4. fogbadge Smash Legend. Xenoblade 2 had (has?) ... to seem like a total violation of the laws of the universe you have to mentally enter a world where you actually see the Rex Mii costume as Rex proper and can watch that one Enel vid and think it's serious. Unless for some reason he had decided the 5 DLC characters he want before Xenoblade 2 was released. I think adding Rex as a bonus is basically a holdover until he can make Rex a full character. Yeah, maybe I’m reading too much into it, but the way Sakurai was talking, it REALLY sounds like he wanted Rex in the base game but couldn’t do it due to the timing of everything.
