Despite Vergil wearing a mask in all of The Order's videos, Mundus has pictures of Vergil's face and is aware he is part of The Order. He caught a kick from behind him and with the leg in his grasp, elbowed that Dante in the face before chopping him to the ground. After Dante rescues him, Vergil explains that he needs to destroy his data, saying that their enemies will learn all of his plans if they find it. With just a single strike of his palm, DmC Dante crashed into a building, leaving an imprint in the wall. Dante looked over and saw his opponent with the heavy axe Arbiter. It's past your bedtime! He runs fast enough to have his hand catch fire like a shuttle entering Earth in re-entry and even managed to beat his evil twin. With the objective completed, Vergil reunites with them on a city bridge, where Raptor News Tower is in clear sight. Returning to the Hollow, he learns of Dante being somewhere in the netherworld. So yeah, DmC Vergil's wounds took their toll on him. Due to his unique nature, he was the only person who could see the demons hiding in human society. He pulled out the Kablooey and shot an explosive charge toward the Rebellion's handle.

Then again, when you've achieved as much as this guy has...I think you've got a right to be cocky! In fact, his performance was incredible considering the age difference between the two.

These actions will catch Mundus’ attention and draw him away from the Hell Gate, which is the source of his power and immortality. However, he remains unaware that Vergil is a Nephilim.

By surviving a stab through the chest, Dante obtained its power. It continues the series' tradition/running joke of Dante getting impaled through the chest with a sword, something that has happened to him in every game except Devil May Cry 2.; The sword's expanded form bears a resemblance to the Akantor Broadsword, a weapon from Capcom's Monster Hunter series. Wiz: Granted, DmC Dante's Devil Trigger could more than trip up the original Dante due to Dante lacking an angel half, but even then, it's not guaranteed that DmC Dante could do enough damage in that allotted time to actually put him down.

Wiz: As for matching any of his classic counterpart's feats, DmC Dante has yet to showcase anything on the level of cutting down 100,000 raindrops in less than a second, running fast enough to catch fire, or blocking a blow from someone like the Savior. As Kat opens a gate to Limbo for Dante, Vergil explains that this trip will let Dante remember his past.

The two span in place for just a moment, then their swords met in a power struggle.

From skills to Devil Mode, we weigh who is the stronger Devil May Cry character – Dante or Nero. His coat, while remaining black, acquires a white tint in the collar, and his sleeves and hands constantly emit a white aura. Although the two were close as children, their idyllic life was shattered when Mundus attacked their mansion and murdered their mother. But he also has some flaws. The old versus the new!

Oh no, if you gotta do the job, you gotta keep it stylish~ Dante has styles to aid him in combat: Gunslinger for maximized gunslinging badassery, Royal Guard for impenetrable defense, Trickster for some fast-paced action and Swordmaster for some awesome swordplay~ He's also got two extra Styles called "Doppelganger" and "Quicksliver" which lets him create copies of himself and slow down time respectively. DmC Dante was not only struck with déjà vu of facing his brother, but also a simultaneous combination attack by Dante and his literal doppelganger. Demonic power manipulation: Vergil can channel demonic energy into his weapons to empower them with different effects.

DmC Dante saw the move clearly choreographed and met it with one of his own... Each with their own gauntlets: the dragon-faced Ifrit and the metal red Eryx.

He jumped up to Dante and slashed as rapidly as he could with Rebellion.

Of course, that was something of a plot armor for Nero at the time, which means a proper battle between the two can only be considered a tie for the time being. During times of crisis, he’s been shown to struggle to catch a pattern in his enemy, something that Dante doesn’t seem to have a problem with. Before he could make his trademark quip, something came crashing down onto the Drekavac, severing its head from its body and leaving a slice in the ground.

However, those still aren’t a trump card like Nero’s Devil Bringer.
