You will likely see Sizzle, Kaboom or Flame Slash much more than you would see Whack, Magic Burst, Kamikazee, or Hocus Pocus. Hocus Pocus never fails to make me feel young again, making me reDIscover the beginning of my halloween oBsession. And it’s the perfect movie to start the Halloween countdown in my house. The reason I love Hocus Pocus is because it gives me a nostalgic, comforting feeling. They just don’t make movies like this anymore. Most of all I love how when I watch it I always feel that same Halloween happiness I felt as a kid. If so, what the hell are all the kids doing at home watching the TV?? It incorporates some loose history, identifiable landmarks because it was filmed “on location”, and has a super predictable but fun story line with great cameos and amazing Middler one-liners. When I first watched it I fell in love with Max Dennison. I Love Watching it.
I love to play it even if it’s just on in the background, it motivates and inspires me while working on new art.
Above all it brings a smile on my face and lets me revel in my memories and share them with my daughter.
Let me count the ways! Then they got smart and bought the movie haha!
Hocus Pocus is a year round movie in my house, I can’t turn it off anytime it comes on the tv and I also have to watch it on dvd multiple times once it becomes fall!

It’s just a fun film. It’s a crucial part of my closest cousins and mine relationship! My love for this film has carried well into my adult years, and it will never lose its magic in my eyes. I watch it every year during that halloween time.
The costumes, Salem & just the magic of it all. I also made her take to The mall to buy the movie Poster. I watch it every time it is on every year.
Especially seeing the Dennison house in real life! So, now I have 3 grandsons that come along with my now grown, adult children as well.
I think what drew me to love the movie so much was the magic, the dark (albeit Disney themed) setting such as corpses coming back to life in an old cemetery and spooky witches’ houses, and of course that the movie’s plot was during my favorite holiday. I loved it when I was young and still to this day .

It’s a tradition for me every year to watch this movie at least a dozen times in October.
