In the most recent episode titled "Doubling Down," we hear Heidi herself admit that Cartman came into her life during a very difficult time in her life. While I like the new serialized format of the show, the cost is sometimes getting episodes where various plotlines eat up time and none are really developed in 22 minutes, but since nothing here outside Cartman/Heidi carries through the season, there’s just undeveloped ideas here.

The biggest highlight of the episode for me is them taking City Airlines to get there. eventually mustered up the courage to confront Cartman's toxic influence, She eventually realizes how far she has fallen, double down on staying committed to the relationship, teasing Heidi about dating Cartman, which causes her to go back to Cartman and buy his lies, showing her private parts to a boy she barely knows, went out of his way to be nice to the New Kid and thus earned her loyalty, Either her mother remarried, or the writers just reused Heidi's character model for generic girls early on, acknowledges his status as a background character, saying he's more of a prop, even mistakenly believe that she and Red are the same person, to spontaneously break into song and dance.
Heidi: Alright. It will be over time, but I feel like Heidi will almost be just as racist as Cartman by the end of the season.
I think season 18 and 21 (so far) is the best balance.

A lot of this episode kind of goes in one ear and out the other with me, but I’ve watched it a few times now and it is a funny despite 22 minutes despite the lack of staying power. Stop It! "Doubling Down" is the seventh episode of Season Twenty-One, and the 284th overall episode of South Park. Originally just one of the minor female classmates and a part of Wendy and Bebe's group of friends, she became a much more prominent character in Seasons 20-21.
Okay, so in the most recent episode “Doubling Down” I think the ground works for major character development in Heidi were set. What could go wrong?
