Our daughter loves the place. Management was helpful in setting up extra tables. This is a charming little museum. Textiles, mass communication devices, agricultural equipment, recreational items, and furnishings are just a few examples of the more than 19,000 objects in our care in this collection, with many of them on site as part of the museum's immersive exhibition experience. The Cumberland Heritage Village Museum, located at 2940 Old Montreal Rd, is a local history museum that interprets the history of rural Ontario in the 1920s and 1930s and more specifically the history of the municipality of Cumberland. The museum holds building from the community and I remember seeing them as a little girl. *Schedule is available at the museum and is subject to change. Tel. We have adapted the visitor experience to reflect guidance from Ottawa Public Health and the Province of Ontario while still providing fun opportunities to engage with local history. Interior exhibition spaces are not accessible at this time. Equipped with a diesel-powered engine, the fully operational sawmill is an example of local manufacturing industries unable to compete with factories of mass production. Our resident blacksmith tells the story of the transition from handmade goods to mass production and the ever adapting craftsmen in the face of technological advance. Please note: the museum is closed to the public on Thanksgiving Sunday.
