Anyway, adorable book. It’s Me, Publishing. The first thing Margaret asks God is "Don't let New Jersey be too horrible," so you know she's in for a rough time with God. What makes Blume so wonderful - well, there are lots of things, but one of them is that she respects her audience, which is specifically 12-year-old girls and no one else. Summary: Faced with the difficulties of growing up and choosing a religion, a twelve-year-old girl talks over her problems with her own private God.
Sheâs just moved from New York City to Farbook, New Jersey, and is anxious to fit in with her new friendsâNancy, Gretchen, and Janie. I rode in the police car with them since there was no one at home to stay with me. And I'd love to dance with him... just once or twice. I've been told the "belt" references have been removed.
Title. It’s a lot better that way since it’s a lot easier to like a book when you don’t know the author and don’t have expectations. Girls' bodies begin to do freakish things--or, as in Margaret's case, they don't do freakish things nearly as fast as girls wish they would. When they form a secret club to talk about private subjects like boys, bras, and getting their first periods, Margaret is happy to belong. It's Me, Margaret.
